Big V Pre-Season 2009

Labour Day Weekend, 2009. The Sunbury Jets basketball teams played the Big V Pre-Season tournament at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

Big V Round 1

The Big V season started at home with a double header. The Women Jets played a tightly contested game against the Craigieburn Eagles, with the Jets taking the win by a slim margin of 2 points, 58-56. The Men Jets had a runaway win against a talented Latrobe University 102-65.
Well done to both teams!

Big V Round 2

Double home game hosting again this weekend for both Jets Men's and Women's teams.

The Men's team had a straightforward win against Hawthorn. Despite a third term rush by the Magic, Sunbury won 111 – 84.

The Women's team coming off a win at Hawthorn on Saturday night had a much harder match against the Werribee Devils. Taken to overtime with the score 64 – 64, Sunbury overcame a very determined Werribee team to take the honours 76 – 70.

Big V Round 6

The Jets continued their winning form withstanding pressure by third-placed Bulleen to win 91-78. The Jets are still unbeaten with a 7-0 record.
